The history of watercolor painting began as far back as with ancient Egypt and Rome. The earliest form of watercolor painting was known as buon fresco painting. An awesome example of this style of watercolor painting is the Sistine Chapel created by Michelangelo. He began the masterpiece in 1508 and completed in by 1514.
